Hiya Darlin',
I slept deeply with earplugs since we're on a fairly busy road, and there are so many critters running around, I figured there must be a rooster around here somewhere! Got my morning chores done, took Lola for a walk with her new harness, which is really helping her, and she peed right on cue. I made her a bit larger breakfast today, since she's been eating her snacks better, and she ate about half of it, which is much better than the last week. Finally headed out for our noon appointment with Paws Rehab, and had a fantastic 90 minute session! I learned all about what exercises we need to do, and also confirmed some of the stuff I've already been doing, so I feel comfortable we're on the right track. I canceled the appointment with the second vet that I had scheduled for tomorrow, figured I've gone about as far as I can go in figuring out how to treat her. Afterwards, I brought her back to the camper, then headed out again to Tractor Supply to pick up horse feed and propane, and Walmart for a few things, including Cheez Whiz, which I discovered was a great pill delivery device, both of which are only about 5 minutes away and right next to each other! Easy peasy! I was planning on picking up hay, but the hay guy wasn't available until later, so I decided to skip it. I suddenly realized I have no reason to say here any longer and could head out to another campground, until I remembered I had ordered Lola more Carprofen, and it's not scheduled to be here until Friday, though it's only coming from PA, so it might show up earlier. So I'll get hay tomorrow (everyone is haying right now, we've had several beautiful sunny days, and no rain in the forecast until the weekend, naturally), and I have to figure out where I would go anyway, since I don't want to go back south to Blackwell, which was my original plan. No problem, there are plenty of horse camps around, I just need to find one with open dates, or is first come, first served. Just as I got back with my groceries, I was told my package had just arrived, it contains the new end for my 50 amp extension cord, so after putting everything away, I started working on that. That turned out to be a much longer job than I expected, but it was my own fault. The old cord had the end all sealed up, no screws and no way to get it off, but I tried anyway. After using a razor knife, screwdrivers for prying and my little Dremel, I still couldn't get it off completely, so I finally gave up and just cut the end off, which is what I should have done in the first place. Once I did that, it wasn't long before I had it all put together, though it was a struggle because the screws were in so tight, I had to use pliers just to turn the screwdriver! Finally got it all together, plugged into the 50 amp circuit, and viola! I had power! Happy about that, too, since it's been very sunny and hot, and the inside of the camper gets pretty warm inside when it's sunny, so the AC came on pretty quick. It was 6:30 by the time all that was done, so I was happy to settle down for the evening at that point. I did take Lola for another walk around 8:30, and we went all the way around the house and back through the barn, and she peed and pooped along the way! Definitely feeling much better these days! I have high hopes for a full recovery, at least to the condition she was in before she fell down the stairs. Anyway, time for shower and bed. Good night, sweetie! Love you!
