Woke up around 8:00 and started getting ready to leave. Steve fixed another nice breakfast for us, and we were soon parting ways. We had a little trouble getting out of the loop, it was pretty narrow and I had to take a couple of stabs at it, but finally we made the corner and were heading up the road. It was only about a 90 minute drive on back roads to our next horse camp, Otter Creek, or actually, Independence River State Forest. Made one wrong turn, only because my GPS wanted to bring us in the south side instead of the north side, but we got back on track before we got into any trouble. Arrived at the campground and checked out all three loops, looking for a spot where Hubby thought he could get a satellite signal. Despite being a Thursday, the camp was about 40% full already, evidently some folks came for the 4th of July and stayed on. We managed to find the perfect spot in the first loop. We returned to the only water spigot with actual threads on it and filled up the freshwater tank before settling in, and we're close enough so that if we need to fill it again, we have enough hose to reach it, thank goodness. There's a closer spigot to the horses, but without threads, so it will be a bucket brigade for them. Got everyone settled in, and even got the satellite dish up in no time! Hubby was right about the angle, so now we're all happy campers! We were completely settled in by about 2:30 or so, really nice to get in this early. I spent some time in the afternoon writing, then grilled a London Broil I had started marinating yesterday afternoon for a lovely dinner, and settled down for the night.
