Had made a doctor’s appointment for this afternoon, so I spent the morning on the computer trying to find a new/used recliner. I’ve definitely decided to make a dog bed/storage compartment like we did in the Open Range, can’t seen any real reason to have two recliners anymore, First, though I went to my doctor’s office for my annual exam, only to discover that my insurance expired on Dec. 31 (even though I’m eligible until March 31), because the premium didn’t get paid. Didn’t get a bill, and they don’t have an autopay, so evidently I missed it. Discovered it was cheaper just to pay for the doctor’s visit than pay the premium with the late fee, so that’s what I did for now. Frankly, I’m sick and tired of paying through the nose for insurance I never use, so I’m thinking about just forgoing it until I qualify for Medicare in eight months time. I can buy a lot of health care for the cost of health insurance, and I’m in pretty darned good health, so what’s the point? Anyway, it was a frustrating day at the doctor’s office, then I went shopping at Home Depot where I picked up most of the stuff I need to create the storage box/dog bed in the spot where your recliner used to be. Hoping to build that tomorrow. Got everything but the carpet for the top, thought I’d check out a few carpet stores for remnants before I spent a bunch on more carpet than I needed. Then a quick trip to Walmart for a few essentials, got back to camp at dusk, settled down for the evening, finished off the Traveler series (so sorry they quit after three seasons, I really like it!), now I’m ready for shower and bed! Slept late because I woke up a few times during the night, but felt fine this morning. My neighbors’ horse recovered fine overnight, though they were worried because when they looked out at 4:00 a.m, he was laying down, and they thought he was done. He was just sleeping, though, not surprising after the workout he had. He loaded up fine and seemed recovered, so they left this morning. Did my chores, then did some thinking about rearranging the furniture. These two recliners we’ve had since the Open Range are over 10 years old now, and they’re really showing their wear. The motor on one quite working as well. I started thinking about how we had added extra storage under a dog bed in the dining area, so I dragged the non-working chair outside and put Lola’s bed in that space, which means the laundry room suddenly looks a lot bigger. I did some research to see what kind of drawers or chests or cabinets I can put in her to raise up her bed and give me some extra storage. I would love to put all those beverages from under the kitchen table somewhere where they can’t be seen, and just give this place a tidier look. Not positive what I’m going to do yet, but I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow so I’ll stop at Home Depot to see what I can come up with. Probably will look to change the other chair out as well, just because it looks pretty ratty. Anyway, finally settled down for the afternoon and evening, heading to shower and bed shortly. Sleeping well, chores done, then ran out to do some errands, checked on Glenn’s pool, bought some hardware for the manure rake, stopped at the grocery store for milk and bread, then back to camp. Met with James H. for a bit, and James E. fixed my tractor auger and got it hooked up, so I’m good to go for putting the final posts in. Need to do a little research on that, I know there are a few more posts I need create, as well as painting some that are already out there that aren’t quite finished. Perfect weather, cool tonight, so maybe I can get it done next week. Settled down, binge-watched some more Travelers, but fell asleep in my chair, so I’m heading to bed early. Felt good most of the day, but think maybe the existing germs in my black gator might have put some back into my system, feeling more tired than I should. Anyway, a quick shower and then I’m off to bed! Good night, babe! Love you!

Another good night sleep, fed the horses and did morning chores, then fell asleep in my chair reading, so obviously I’m still recovering, not feeling 100 percent. Binge-watched Travelers some more, and that was pretty much it! Still fighting with the union over a contract, not looking too good, which is really going to kill me if I can’t get health insurance to cover the gap until I qualify for Medicare. Grrr! Anyway, heading to shower and bed and another night of sleep, and hopefully making more headway toward feeling better. Good night, my darlin’! Love you!

Well, I knew I had to run into town today because I needed horse feed and hay, so I also decided to run by the Health Center and get a covid test, since their website proclaimed they had drive-thru and walk-in free testing, but when I got there, that turned out to NOT be true. They wanted me to make an appointment, and they couldn’t make one for today, so I skipped it. I ran out to Glenn’s to drop off the mower gas I bought the other day, and to check on the pool, then I stopped at the hardware store trying to find a better screw for the manure rake but didn’t succeed in finding one. Finished off at Tractor Supply for horse feed and hay before heading back to camp. Wasn’t feeling too bad when I got up this morning, but all that activity seemed to wear me down, even though it wasn’t that much, so I’m not out of the woods yet. Figure I’ll just keep staying in until I truly feel better. I did order some free covid tests, don’t know how long they’ll take to get here, but if it’s fairly soon, maybe I can finally confirm or deny that’s what it is. Started bingeing a new series, Travelers, which keep my attention for the rest of the day. Ready for a shower and bed. Good night, sweetheart! Love you!

Had another good night sleep and another quiet day of recovery. My fever broke last evening, and I felt much better today, but figured I’d be better served to take another day off in self-imposed quarantine, since most places are closed today anyway. The campground emptied out throughout the day, and when I finally walked out to feed the horses dinner, the place was empty, at least the equestrian side. Delighted to find that every single stall and paddock was clean! First time I can say that after a busy weekend! Only one pile of trash that someone left on a picnic table (about 10 yards from the dumpster, would you believe!), and the same site where I learned the motorhome that was parked there had kept their generator on all night, so I’m going to have to make sure to keep an eye out for them again next time. So a very lazy day, but I’m feeling much better, and expect by tomorrow I’ll be as good as possible. Almost out of hay and feed so I’ll be having to go shopping tomorrow anyway, it will be good to get out of the abode for a bit! I’m sure Lola is bored still, we’ve barely even played fetch for the last few days. Read all morning, watch movies all afternoon, enjoyed some leftovers that Jim and Carol’s friend Ben made (oxtails and egg noodles!) so I didn’t even have to cook today. Ready for my shower and bed! Hi Babe,
Slept fitfully through the night and late into the morning, before I finally thought I was well enough to go feed the horses around 10:30. Barely made it, though, got a little dizzy, so went straight back to bed. Finally checked my temperature and I had a fever that got worse through the day. Finally just crawled into my recliner and watched movies all day. Even though it was 83 degrees in the trailer, I still had to put a blanket on to keep from shivering. I had Carol do the evening feed again, still trying to do nothing but rest. Sure hope I feel better tomorrow! Not fun! Good night, darlin’! Love you!

The day started out busy, with the volunteers starting on the shelter around 9:00, and James and I going over to the maintenance yard to exchange gates so we can replace a bent one on one of the paddocks. Then suddenly, in mid-afternoon, I started feeling like I was getting chills, like shivering under my skin, so I came back to the trailer and after a while, crawled into bed. I alternated between chills and sweats, and didn’t get out of bed at all. Carol was kind enough to feed my horses for me, so I was able to stay in bed. I haven’t been sick in so long, this is really a bummer. Loaded up on liquids and am staying in bed. Good night, Sweetie! Love you!
