Hey Darlin',
Was up just after 7:00, took a couple of Aleve for my leg, wrapped it up in a knee brace and got busy packing up. I took it slow and easy, just one step at a time, and managed to finish up at the dump and down the road by 10:30. It was only about a half hour drive, avoiding the twisty, windy route for a better route just a bit farther south, and after a few false starts (not a lot of room to maneuver), I managed to be in my site by 11:30. My first chore, even before getting the horses out, was to hook up electric, fill my water tank, and start some long overdue laundry! Once that was done, I got the urge to do some housekeeping, also long overdue, dusting and vacuuming and Febrezing, so that it actually felt clean for a change. Finally, I got the horses out on anchors so they could munch on some grass, and got Lola out of the truck. I don't know if she's doing better or if I'm managing her pain better, but she didn't have any episodes overnight, and only had one brief incident where she screamed for a moment. I gave her three pain pills last night, and she did manage to sleep until morning. Fingers crossed she's improving. She certainly takes off walking fast once she gets in her rhythm, and hasn't had any problem doing her business, has been eating and drinking well, so everything else is good. I have high hopes that the acupuncture will help. Meanwhile, I slowly managed to get everything set up, including a highline between a couple of trees, which is what I did last time and no one had a problem with it, but late in the evening a DNR guy came by and told me I had to tie them to one of their ridiculous and dangerous pipe hitching rails. Not happy about that! Under the rails is nothing but mud with all the rain, not to mention muck and old horse piss, and I think these things are an accident waiting to happen. But I had no choice. I'll put them back on anchors tomorrow, see what happens, but for tonight I put them on the rail. It's so hot and humid I'm having to run the AC, so I'm glad I have electric, just not too thrilled with the horse containment system here. Oh, well, it's only for a week. Surprisingly had time to relax, read and watch TV later in the day, thought I'd be busy all day! Also surprisingly, my leg seems to be doing much better, barely a twinge once I got going, am curious whether it was because of the brace or the painkillers. I'll know better tomorrow! Off to shower and bed! Good night, my love!
