Thursday, October 30, 2025 – Work on Furnace, No Joy

Hey Darlin',
After another warm flannel night, it was nice to wake up to actual sunshine for a change. It's been gray and rainy for three solid days, so even though it was windy and a bit cooler, the sun felt good. I did some research yesterday on what could be my furnace problem, in addition to talking to Dave, a local RV mobile guy whose schedule is too busy to service me, so I had a few things I wanted to try today. It was a struggle taking the thing apart, but I finally managed it. Didn't see anything obviously wrong (that would have been too easy!), but I cleaned up everything and put it back together several times, adjusted the gap on the ignition electrodes (which I though was the main problem, plus any rust), but when I finished, it was actually worse. Instead of firing up then repeatedly turning off, now there's no spark, I can just smell the gas since it's not getting burned off. No joy fixing it, sorry to say. But it did narrow things down for me, I think. I ordered a new burner and ignition electrode and am having it sent to Broxton, so at least I'll have it there, even if I don't have time to put it in. I've reserved an electric site anyway, so I won't need my furnace, but I will have to get it done at some point. Anyway, I'm no worse off than I was before. I'm just running the generator and using the electric fireplace to warm up the trailer before going to be, but I'll still have to suffer through the cold mornings, though it does stay pretty warm in here, in this well-insulated trailer. Not getting a very good signal tonight, so watching TV has been frustrating, not even sure I'll be able to post anything tonight! Heading for bed pretty soon, need to cuddle with my flannel! Good night, babe! Love you!
